What we measured
On September 14, 2026 at 22:36 UTC, a Mac identified by macOS as Mac15,13 running macOS 26.7 sent three consecutive trials to its current private IPv4 default gateway over en0, identified in the hardware-port inventory as Wi-Fi. Each trial sent twelve ICMP probes, 0.5 seconds apart. We selected the current gateway automatically and made no configuration changes.
Router model, firmware, radio band, physical placement, and background traffic were unknown. The gateway address is removed from the public record. This is one brief observation of this connection, not a router comparison or a claim about a particular device.
All three trials
All three processes exited successfully; all 36 probes received replies. The downloadable record retains every sample, trial timing, sanitized command output, and limitations. No failed trial was discarded.

What the result leaves open
These probes measure round-trip response time to the configured gateway during a short interval. They do not measure throughput, internet latency, video-call quality, reliability over a workday, or performance in another room. ICMP handling and competing work can affect observations. There is no controlled wired comparison or repeat session here.
A useful follow-up would record router model and firmware, client placement, band, and concurrent traffic, then repeat the same bounded protocol in a second session. Keep failed trials and report environmental changes before comparing numbers. Do not use these observations to justify buying a router.
